About Our Team
Sally is from New Zealand and known in the eventing community as one of the best out there and we are very lucky to have her and her years of experience as a vital part of our team. She started grooming at the age of 15 in show jumping in NZ and Australia. She came to the US in 2004 to work with Donna Smith and then basically never left! Has since managed and worked for fellow riders in the US and UK, such as Sara Murphy, Jock Paget, Caroline Martin and Clark Montgomery with whom she traveled for Team USA to the Rio Olympics. Sally has a real knack for keeping the horses happy and healthy and we are proud to have her at LKE.
Hi! I’m Kim, I began working for Lauren in 2016. I am her “resident rider”, and my duties include starting, training and showing the babies, helping her with extra riding and helping take care of the ponies in the barn!
I began riding before I could walk at my parents’ lesson barn in Massachusetts. In the summers we would train at Tamarack Hill Farm with Denny Emerson, where he introduced me to Eventing and I quickly fell in love. I went to the University of Kentucky where I worked with Cathy Weischoff and Jorge Montalvo, continuing my career while getting degrees in business management and equine science. After college I went to work for my high school coach, Jerry Schurink at Bridgewater College. Jerry encouraged me to get my MBA, and introduced me to Lauren, knowing she had a position opening soon that would be a perfect fit.
Working at Stonehall Farm has been everything I’d hoped for and more. A typical day includes riding 6-8 horses, taking lessons with Lauren and David, caring for the horses in the barn and watching David, Karen and Lauren teach. A few major highlights over my past 3 years here has been getting to watch Lauren place top 10 at multiple 5* events, and getting to see Vinny (our rowdiest homebred) come so far.
Sara McKennaSara came to work for Stonehall in April 2004 from her native Ireland. Sara competed and trained young horses at home from a very early age. Competing in pure dressage and eventing, Sara traveled nationally and internationally with the Under 21 Team. However, her passion has always been eventing and was given the opportunity to work with some of the best people in the country; she took the position as second rider and head girl for the Stonehall Farm Young Event Horse Team. As the years have passed Sara has been a staple person in our team and while she is the stay at home barn manager she does get out and about and travel to some of the shows if she can. Sara just returned from a couple of months at home in Ireland and is now back as part of our team for another 3 years!
Lauren came to join our team in the winter of 2014 from Vermont. She had previously competed through the training level. Having joined the team as a working student she has moved up the ladder, grooming, riding, competing and since 2108 she has taken on the position as the barn manager. She wears many hats and we appreciate her continued willingness to watch over the entire program.
